I'm heading out soon (traveling the day before Thanksgiving: very bad!) to Maryland for what will eventually include my annual trip to Darkovercon (formally known as Darkover Grand Council Meeting XXXIV) this Friday-Sunday. I'm doing the traditional Regency Ball and my usual charity fundraising work. Very easy schedule:
Saturday, 5:00-7:00 PM - Regency Ball
Regency dancing. Live music. The usual sort of thing.
Saturday, 9:00-11:30ish PM - Clam Chowder Concert
I am obviously not a member of the band, but I organize a fundraiser for Children's Hospital as part of the event every year, in which we raise money under the guise of bribing the band to sing the bawdy song known fondly as B.O.G.S. After more than a decade the fact that this is pure theater is well-known, but we nonetheless manage to squeeze thousands of dollars out of only a few hundred very well-primed fans.
Prior to the con I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends Jeff & Sandy and their daughter Megan and a Thanksgiving feast at Noel-Marie's with many fannish friends.
